Bale Skiis

The BaleSkiis Difference

The BaleSkiis® Baler Liner was developed to eliminate the problems associated with all sizes of square balers. It is the only significant improvement in the elimination of square baler problems since the square baler has been put into wide-spread use. While eliminating the problems of the baler, it also improves the function and cost effectiveness of the power source that runs the baler (tractor or engine). It improves the efficiency and use of the bale retrieving, transporting, and stacking equipment, by making a more uniform and compact bale. Because of the BaleSkiis® design it does so with no moving parts and, in fact, reduces wear on the baler and power source.

We developed the BaleSkiis® baler liner and used and tested it extensively in our own haying operation in a wide variety of forages and haying conditions. After having such good results with our own haying equipment, we decided to back up those results with official tests. It was tested by the Alberta Farm Machinery Research Centre in Lethbridge, Alberta under PAMI and their guidelines.

The results confirmed our tests and also showed that there is a bonus of 30% more leaf retention when using the BaleSkiis® Baler Liner. Leaves containing more nutrition and protein are a BIG plus. With more of them retained, the more valuable the hay is with added protein and pounds per acre.

FAQ’s

How does it work?

A combination of self-adjusting materials and the auto-spring back pattern machined into the product, uniformly compresses the hay and keeps it compressed when the baler plunger retracts. This ensures a constant uniform movement of hay through the bale chamber.

How will it help me?

The BaleSkiis® baler liner makes uniform bales in weight, length and density so:

  • You can use less experienced help to run the baler.
  • Your picking, transporting and stacking equipment performs faster and more efficiently.

The BaleSkiis® baler liner makes heavier bales if desired which:

  • reduces your trucking and handling costs.

The BaleSkiis® baler liner stabilizes friction which results in:

  • reducing the amount of tension in your bale chamber.
  • reducing horsepower and fuel consumption.
  • reducing knotter problems.
  • reducing wear, break downs, and down time.

This all adds up to a cost savings that eliminates frustration and increases your haying profits! It makes very uniform bales in varying temperatures, moisture, and crop types resulting in bales that are consistent in weight and density.

How hard is it to install?

You will receive a complete kit with all fasteners, installation instructions, and pictures of how to put it in your machine. There’s nothing to change or modify in your baler. It takes about 2 hours to install a complete kit in a small baler and about 1 full day for a large baler, depending on the model and the size of the baler. Installation is not complicated or difficult, but there is a lot of drilling so it can be time-consuming.

Will it work in my baler?

We make kits for all makes and models of square balers, from very old to brand new balers just out of the factory.

What's it made of?

BaleSkiis® are made from a specially designed plastic that has a built-in ability to self-adjust to varying temperatures and moistures. The material has a specific pattern machined into it (similar to X-country skiis) to prevent springback.

How long will it last?

The specs on the plastic material shows 3 times the wear-resistance of mild steel. We have customers who’ve had them installed for over 10 years and are still using or have sold the baler with the still intact BaleSkiis® installed.

FYI-We offer a 1 year warranty on our product to be free of defects in material or workmanship. We will repair or replace any defective or malfunctioning part of the liner for 1 year from the date of purchase, with accompanying proof of purchase. This warranty does not cover problems resulting from incorrect installation, misuse, unapproved alterations, or accident.

What is the warranty and returns policy?

We are so confident in our product that we offer a full money-back guarantee*. You can try it for a whole season and if you’re still not satisfied you can return it for a full refund. (Minus shipping costs.) We only ask that you tell us why it did not meet your expectations and needs.

(*THIS GUARANTEE DOES NOT COVER: Problems resulting from incorrect installation, misuse, unapproved alterations, or accidents.)

How does it reduce leaf loss?

The BaleSkiis® baler liner is made from special self-adjusting material. It also has an auto-spring back pattern machined into the product so it uniformly compresses the hay and keeps it compressed when the baler plunger retracts. This ensures a constant uniform movement of hay through the bale chamber. This means that the hay is not moving back and forth in the chamber breaking leaves off of stems.

  • Puts more high protein leaves in the bale, not on the ground.
  • Puts more pounds per acre in the bale, not on the ground.
